We are proud to celebrate Fred Berglund, who has been honored with the Lifetime of Service Award from La Rabida Children’s Hospital. Fred’s connection to La Rabida began more than 30 years ago, and his commitment has only grown stronger over the decades. He served as Chairman of the Board, guiding the organization with the same integrity, compassion, and steady leadership that have defined his career. 

Fred is also the driving force behind La Rabida’s annual golf outing, one of the hospital’s largest and most impactful fundraisers. His dedication has helped expand critical programs, support families, and strengthen the hospital’s mission of providing specialized care to children with complex medical needs grounded in the belief that every child deserves care, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. 

As longtime neighbors on Chicago’s South Side, La Rabida and Berglund Construction share a deep, enduring relationship rooted in service, partnership, and community. Fred’s recognition reflects not only his personal legacy, but also the shared values that continue to unite our organizations in support of children and families.
