Berglund Construction Announces Leadership Transition in Restoration Division

Berglund Construction announced a leadership transition within its nationally recognized Restoration Division, one that honors decades of craftsmanship while positioning the company for its next era of growth.

After nearly thirty years as President, Jack Tribbia will begin transitioning to an advisory role, with Eric Dexter stepping into day-to-day leadership as Senior Vice President of the Restoration Division. The planned succession reflects Berglund’s long-standing commitment to continuity, mentorship, and developing leaders from within.

A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Growth

Since joining Berglund in 1995, Jack Tribbia has transformed the Restoration Division from a small regional operation into a 125 million dollar national leader in historic preservation, façade repair, and building restoration. Under his guidance, the division has completed award-winning projects for institutions such as the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, University of Chicago, Northwestern University, JPMorgan Chase, and the U.S. General Services Administration.

Jack’s leadership has also been defined by his ability to cultivate talent. Generations of craftspeople and project leaders credit him with fostering a culture of technical excellence and integrity.

“Jack’s impact on Berglund and the industry cannot be overstated,” said Fred Berglund, CEO. “He’s built a legacy defined by craftsmanship, safety, and integrity. We’re grateful that he’ll continue to play a guiding role as we move into this next chapter.”

Jack will remain President through the first quarter of 2026, working closely with Eric to ensure a smooth transition. Following that, he will assume the role of Vice Chair of Berglund Construction’s Advisory Board, focusing on client relationships, mentorship, safety and quality initiatives, and strategic advising on complex restoration projects.

Leadership for the Future

As Jack transitions into his new role, Eric Dexter will take on leadership of the Restoration Division as Senior Vice President.

Eric’s journey with Berglund began nearly two decades ago when he joined the company as an intern in 2007. Since then, he has advanced through roles in project management and executive leadership, overseeing some of Berglund’s most complex restoration and preservation projects. His leadership has been instrumental in expanding the division’s geographic reach and driving new opportunities across the Midwest and beyond.

“Eric represents the very best of Berglund,” said Jeff Berglund, President of Berglund Construction. “He has a deep respect for our history, a drive for innovation, and a commitment to excellence. This is the kind of thoughtful internal succession we’ve always believed in, one leader passing the torch to another who’s been built from within.”

In his new role, Eric will oversee all aspects of the division’s operations, including estimating, preconstruction, sales, and growth strategy.

“I’m honored to carry forward the legacy that Jack and so many others have built,” said Eric Dexter. “We have a talented team, trusted clients, and an incredible opportunity to continue growing Berglund’s restoration work nationwide.”

A Seamless Transition Toward the Future

This leadership transition represents both continuity and progress for Berglund Construction. With Jack’s continued involvement and Eric’s forward looking approach, the Restoration Division remains firmly rooted in its traditions of quality, safety, and craftsmanship while embracing innovation and national expansion.
