Erin Deal Appointed Founding Member of Construction Advancement Foundation’s Women in Construction Program

We are proud to announce that Erin Deal, Project Manager at Berglund, is a founding member of the Construction Advancement Foundation's (CAF) Women in Construction (WIC) Program. This transformative initiative is focused on fostering opportunities for women in the construction industry, aligns perfectly with our commitment to advancing the industry and empowering diverse talent. With the mission of “Constructing Change,” the program seeks to elevate the voices of current women leaders while inspiring and recruiting the next generation of females to consider both professional and trades careers in construction.

“The construction industry is full of possibilities, and we want to show young women that there’s a place for them here—whether it’s leading teams on-site or managing projects from the office,” said Erin Deal, emphasizing the importance of mentoring and education to help women see construction as a viable career option.

Erin’s involvement in the CAFWIC program reflects her dedication to driving change within the construction sector. She brings her expertise, passion, and leadership to the initiative alongside an inspiring group of women who represent a broad spectrum of expertise, including:

  • Jennifer Gough, Gough, Inc.
  • Amy Henningfield, Superior Construction
  • Margie Hoffman, Grimmer Construction
  • Allie Komarowski, Milestone Contractors
  • Lynda Niaves, Hasse Construction
  • Lyndie Walton, Continental Electric
  • Melody Weisberg, Construction Advancement Foundation

These dynamic leaders are working collaboratively to create a future where women thrive and lead across all facets of the construction industry, including heavy civil projects, commercial construction, and beyond.

Through Erin's leadership and the collective efforts of CAFWIC, the program is not only focused on empowering women already established in the industry but also dedicated to inspiring young females to pursue careers in construction. The initiative strives to break down stereotypes and demonstrate the diverse, rewarding opportunities available in both the professional side of construction (like project management, engineering, and accounting) and the building trades, including union opportunities.
