Berglund Construction has been named the 2025 Contractor of the Year by the Construction Advancement Foundation (CAF), a recognition of the firm’s outstanding achievements in safety, innovation, craftsmanship, and community-focused construction. 

The award honors companies that demonstrate leadership across key areas including project execution, safety performance, use of innovative construction techniques, workforce training, environmental responsibility, and meaningful community engagement. 

A highlight among Berglund’s recent work is its multi-phase renovation and expansion of Ivy Tech Community College’s Lake County Campus. This significant project modernized learning environments and enhanced student services, reinforcing Ivy Tech’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality education across Northwest Indiana. 

Additional notable projects include extensive hospitality renovations at Blue Chip Casino—encompassing the hotel, spa, deli, and café—and ongoing maintenance and improvement initiatives for the Gary Housing Authority. These efforts reflect Berglund’s broad capabilities and commitment to elevating both public and private spaces throughout the region.
