Berglund Breaks Ground on Purdue Bioscience Innovation Building

Last Thursday, Berglund joined Purdue University Northwest officials, Cannon Design and our construction partner, Powers & Sons Construction Company, in Hammond for the official groundbreaking ceremony for the new Bioscience Innovation Building. The new building will be three stories and home to the College of Nursing and the Department of Biological Sciences. It is the Hammond campus's first new building in 25 years and is scheduled to be completed in April 2020. The adjacent Gyte Annex building will be demolished in May 2020. The ceremony was attended by Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. and state lawmakers, including Rep. Hal Slager, R-Schererville, Rep. Julie Oltoff, R-Crown Point, and Sen. Frank Mrvan, D-Hammond.
