Berglund Construction is proud to celebrate the grand opening of Calumet Hall, Purdue University Northwest's newest residence hall on the Hammond Campus. The new facility is complete and ready to welcome students for the Fall 2026 semester.
The 42,000-square-foot residence hall adds 150 beds to campus housing and was thoughtfully designed to enhance the student experience. Calumet Hall features modern living spaces, a community kitchen, laundry facilities, student study areas, and welcoming lounges that encourage collaboration, connection, and community.
Located on the northeast corner of 173rd Street and Woodmar Avenue, the residence hall places students within walking distance of classrooms, the Student Union Library, and other essential campus resources. The addition also supports PNW's growing residential population, including the increasing number of PNW Pride student-athletes who are choosing to live on campus.

As students prepare to move into their new home in the coming weeks, Calumet Hall stands as a lasting investment in the future of PNW. Designed to support both academic success and campus life, the residence hall provides students with a welcoming place to live, study, and connect with fellow classmates.
When Calumet Hall was first envisioned, PNW Student Government Association President Chloe Belford shared what a residential experience meant to her as a resident assistant, saying, "We're not just adding another building to our campus. We're creating new spaces for connection, for belonging, and for students to write their own stories just like I did."
Her vision has now become a reality. As students begin moving into Calumet Hall, they will find more than a residence - they will discover a place to build community, create lasting memories, and truly feel at home.
