Berglund Breaks Ground on Gold Eagle Headquarters

Chicago, Illinois – Berglund Construction, a leading construction services firm, was joined by Design Organization and other consultants to break ground on Gold Eagle Company Corporate Headquarters Expansion Project. The $4.8 million building will be located at Kildare and 44th Place.

Armin Hirsch started Gold Eagle Co. with a small Chicago storefront, and a vision to produce only the most innovative automotive chemicals. In 1932, Hirsch’s business focused on preventing and curing the toughest engine problems. Since then, Gold Eagle Co. has evolved beyond the engine to offer complete protection for all the things you’re passionate about —from cars to boats to recreation equipment to patio furniture and more. Gold Eagle Co. is well known as the manufacturer and marketer of STA-BIL, HEET and 303 Products.

The 1-story, 20,000-square-foot addition and renovation will be adjacent to the existing Gold Eagle Co. Manufacturing Facility. Chad Todhunter, Project Manager, describes this as a point to contend with during construction. “The biggest logistical challenge will be constructing the new office addition next to the existing office space and employee parking lot which will be kept 100% operational during construction,” explained Chad. “This means the sequence of operations and scheduling for activities such as selective demolition, excavation, and material deliveries will be key to the success of the project.”

The new addition and office renovation was designed to provide much needed space for corporate functions and shared information spaces that foster collaboration among teams locally and from around the world. The building will include 18 offices, 71 workstations, 7 conference rooms, 3 information technology rooms and common areas.

Berglund is serving as Construction Manager and is expected to complete the project fall of 2016.
