Project Overview

Berglund Construction was retained to construct a meteorological sciences, state-of-the-art facility for the GeoMet Department tied to the existing Schnabel Hall to increase classroom, laboratory and administrative space and further enhance the building as a campus communications center. Additionally, student spaces were given consideration to provide social collaboration opportunities. Project included a weather center, computer lab, second floor walk-out observation deck, weather balloon launching equipment and an interface with a proposed campus-sited Doppler Radar system.

This project was schedule driven. Ground was broken in November and building needed to be completed by the following September for the beginning of fall semester. This was successfully achieved.
