Project Overview

The Ophthalmology Clinic Expansion Project expanded the technically outdated clinic from 6,000 sqft to approximately 12,000 sqft and outfits the department with the most current integrated technology. The clinic is located on the first floor in the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM) building. The renovation was a two-phase renovation project that included demolition of walls, flooring, ceiling and MEPFP systems. The new floor plan includes (but not limited to) 24 new exam rooms, new custom millwork reception area, new imaging suite, new laser rooms, administrative support and other clinical functions.

Approach

The phase one scope of work entailed a fit-out of approximately 6,000 sqft of existing lobby space south of the existing clinic. The existing clinic remained operational during this phase. The phase two scope of work renovated the 6,000 sqft of existing Ophthalmology Clinic to provide additional exam rooms, imaging center, administrate support and other clinical functions
