The University of Chicago
Police and Administration Department
An interior build-out of the 45,000-sqft core and shell space for the university’s police and administration departments.

Project Overview

Working in collaboration with Ross Barney Architects, Berglund Construction converted an existing parking garage into a new office building. Berglund completed the 100 percent interior build-out of the 45,000-sqft core and shell space. The project entailed a build-out of the basement through the fourth floors. The interior design boasts new bathrooms, offices, locker rooms, weapon storage and a communications center for the University of Chicago Police Department. Modern hardwood and stone wall surroundings occupy the office and conference spaces for the administration department. A fast-track project schedule was utilized, with completion within 16 weeks.
