Project Overview

Berglund undertook the construction of a new 23,000 sqft, three-story annex to Poe Elementary, an existing three-story school building. This addition was a significant enhancement to the school's facilities, increasing overall capacity and accommodating 7th and 8th-grade athletic amenities. The annex boasts several key features, including a new gymnasium, a multi-purpose room with a stage, adjacent toilet rooms for convenience, and a new student dining and multi-purpose room equipped with a hybrid kitchen to cater to the needs of students and staff.

To ensure accessibility and convenience for all, the annex also includes an elevator, providing access to all levels of the building. In addition to the building construction, the project encompassed the development of essential site features, including a new parking lot to accommodate the increased capacity, stormwater management infrastructure to promote environmental sustainability, and landscaping to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the school grounds. This comprehensive project not only expanded the school's facilities but also improved its overall functionality and accessibility for students, staff, and visitors.
