Project Overview

Located at the intersection of Indian Boundary Road and Route 49, this Jewel Osco store replaced an older store that stood across the street. At 62,000 sqft, the building doubled the sales floor area for Jewel Osco's Chesterton, Ind., location.

We constructed the building on a 22-acre parcel of land. Our scope of work included a new entrance drive, parking lot, new decorative brick paver sidewalks and a community deck. The building's facade is composed of architectural precast wall panels. Because of Jewel Osco's aggressive schedule, the company ordered the precast panels, metal joists and decking before the completion of the bidding phase brought us onto the project. Upon award of the project, we were able to work with the owner's pre-ordered material to meet the timetable.

The new store allows Jewel Osco to offer more products and variety to their customers in an upgraded facility.
