Berglund was selected to renovate the Aquatic Center to include extensive demolition of concrete deck and installation of new, installation of new waterproofing membrane over the newly poured concrete deck surface, and installation of new ceramic tiles.
Project Overview

The Dellora A. and Lester J. Norris Aquatics Center and Henry Crown Sports Pavilion, commonly known as SPAC, is the main athletic and recreational building on campus. Among SPAC’s facilities are an Olympic-size swimming and diving pool, and courts that can be used for basketball, volleyball, and various racquet sports. Berglund was selected to renovate the Aquatic Center to include extensive demolition of concrete deck and installation of new, installation of new waterproofing membrane over the newly poured concrete deck surface, and installation of new ceramic tiles. Additional work scope includes bleacher repairs, new UV system in pool mechanical room, and some minor platform diving base repairs. This renovation was performed in a dense urban university setting successfully with no interruptions to the Athletic Program’s sporting events.
