Project Overview

Berglund completed the construction of a new standalone College of Engineering building on the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) east campus. Spanning 58,000 sqft over two stories, this state-of-the-art research facility offers dedicated spaces for student and faculty use. It includes a high-bay structural testing lab with an exterior water testing flume for the Civil and Materials Engineering Department, as well as research laboratories and offices for the Chemical Engineering Department and the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MIE) Department. Notably, this project achieved LEED Gold certification, highlighting its commitment to sustainability and innovation.
