The 45,000 sqft new construction for The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) east campus is being built to achieve LEED Silver certification.
Project Overview

Berglund constructed a new standalone College of Engineering building on the The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) east campus. The 58,000 sqft two-story research facility includes spaces for students and faculty to utilize for learning. It features a high-bay structural testing lab with an exterior water testing flume for the Civil and Materials Engineering Department, research laboratories and offices for the Chemical Engineering Department, research laboratories and offices for the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MIE) Department. This project went on to achieve LEED Gold certification.
