Restored by Berglund, Unity Temple lands on UNESCO World Heritage List

In 2017, Berglund Construction led a $23 million restoration project to preserve, revitalize and modernize Unity Temple. On Sunday, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Committee inscribed Unity Temple and seven other Frank Lloyd Wright-designed sites to the UNESCO World Heritage List at a meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Located in Oak Park, IL, Unity Temple was built between 1905 and 1909. Its inscription to the UNESCO World Heritage List marks the first modern architecture designations in the United States. The collection of buildings, inscribed as The 20th Century Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, also includes the Frederick C. Robie Hoise, Taliesin, Hollyhock Hoise, Fallingwater, the Herbert and Katherine Jacobs House, Taliesin West, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
