JPSTA Ribbon Cutting for The New Chicago Police and Fire Training Facility

Last week Berglund, along with our JV partners for the Joint Public Safety Training Academy, celebrated the ribbon cutting for the new Police and Fire Training Facility with local law enforcement, community organizers and elected officials including 37th Alderwoman, Emma Mitts, and Chicago Mayor, Lori Lightfoot. This celebration closed out Phase 1 which is part of the larger campus will be utilized for both training and ongoing education of Chicago's 1st responders, currently Berglund is serving as construction manager for Phase 2.

Berglund Construction is honored to have contributed to deepen and strengthen the training capabilities of both new and current police officers, firefighters and paramedics, allowing for comprehensive cross-training among departments. This facility is an investment in the West Side of Chicago to bring improved connectivity between residents and public safety personnel. Not only will this entire campus increase job revenue, but will offer a new Girls and Boys Club, helping to break down the barriers of our urban youth. We are happy to be a part of such a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive project. The campus is located at is 4433 W. Chicago Ave in West Garfield Park, Chicago, on the site of an old railroad yard.
