Project Overview

The Danish Home, founded by 12 pioneering women in 1891 in the Danish tradition of caring for its elderly, is a not-for-profit organization, privately financed and endowed, providing a comfortable, dignified community for the elderly.

The Danish Home of Chicago intends to remodel and expand their existing campus located at 5656 N. Newcastle Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. The different areas of focus for the projects will include skilled nursing dining, resident rooms, and employee work areas, the Newcastle entrance/security, the main dining room, and kitchen and other renovations. It will have a household feel with predominately private rooms/baths and a combined dining room for all residents and living room area and a warming kitchen.
