Project Overview

Berglund Construction provided construction management services for the University of Chicago Medicine Electrophysiology Laboratory. Berglund converted an existing Catheterization Laboratory in Bernard Mitchell Hospital to a new EP Lab. The scope of work included minor demolition of existing interior partitions, soffits and finishes. The new installation will be consistent to a typical interior build-out of a technology driven laboratory space in a large research hospital setting. Special attention was given to the electric design to avoid inference issues with the very sensitive EP electrical signals that are measured during electrophysiology procedures. A hemodynamic system, 3D mapping systems, surgical lighting and integration through image stream are all new features to the suite.
