Project Overview

This is a multi-phased project that spans multiple years and includes replacement of the HVAC system for the South Building at Advocate Trinity Hospital. The ongoing work is occurring on floors two through five and the building penthouse and exterior rooftop. The HVAC system replacement will consist of a new rooftop air handling unit, dampers, exhaust fans, piping and ductwork. In addition, our work includes all of the related general trades scopes that will be necessary to install this new system. This includes interior demolition, cutting, patching, steel, masonry, ceilings, flooring, tile, painting and drywall.

Approach

This is an occupied hospital. All adjacent floors above and below our work scope have remained occupied during construction. Proper temporary protection, infectious control, safety and quality measures for construction work within an operating hospital are required. This projects falls under the jurisdiction of the City of Chicago and the Illinois Department of Public Health.
