In the new post-partum unit, beautifully decorated, home-like rooms are designed for the comfort of new families. There's a fold-out bed to accommodate fathers who want to stay overnight, a spa-like shower to help relax mom and a built-in desk with WIFI access so families can stay connected. The expansion features 25 private rooms.
The Community Hospital's Family Birthing Center is specially designed to accommodate mothers, babies and families in each unique stage of the birthing experience. These suites provide the comforts of home including a television, recliner, desk and private bathroom. After a period of recovery following delivery, moms are transferred to our post partum unit, currently in the final stages of an extensive expansion and renovation. Here, moms can put the labor process behind them, getting to know their new baby and sharing their new joy with family and friends.
The Community Hospital delivers about 2,400 babies a year, making the hospital the most experienced in the area and one of the leading facilities in the state for newborn care. The hospital supports the area's most advanced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, staffed by three full-time Neonatologists. The 16-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit offers the assurance that, should specialized care be necessary, it is available immediately at birth. The Family Birthing Center also offers an outpatient testing room and high-risk rooms for mothers who may need additional monitoring during pregnancy.
