On Nov. 18, Berglund Construction celebrated with members of Moody Global Ministries at a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the new Chapman Center.
Berglund will serve as construction manager for the project at 855 N. Wells Street. The building’s name honors Dr. Gary Chapman, a best-selling author, radio host and Moody alumnus who delivered remarks to the faculty, staff, and students in attendance. Dr. Chapman was joined by Dr. Paul Nyquist, president of the Moody Global Ministries, in addressing the attendees.
The 14-month project will begin in December 2016, with site excavations and clearings and finish in February 2018. The four-story, 50,000 square-foot building will primarily serve as Moody’s global media center, becoming home to Moody Radio and Moody Publishers. Featuring state-of-the-art work spaces and radio broadcast production studios, the Chapman Center will also serve as a hands-on space for Moody Bible Institute’s students to learn from seasoned professionals.
