Building a better community
At Berglund Construction, we recognize the importance of being involved, productive corporate neighbors in the communities in which we operate. We actively support a broad range of charitable, educational and philanthropic endeavors.
For example, each year we participate in a fund-raising walk to benefit The Community Hospital's Cancer Resource Centre in Munster, Ind. The centre offers free cancer support services, such as counseling, support groups and a library, for cancer patients and their families.
Berglund also supports the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Northwest Indiana each year. The nonprofit organization is part of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, which strives to find a cure for diabetes.
In addition, we donate time and money to The Friends of La Rabida, a group that supports the children and staff of La Rabida Children's Hospital in Chicago. The hospital provides comprehensive care for children who have chronic illnesses and those who have been neglected or abused.

Berglund employees and family participate in the 2006 Romp and Roll Walk.

As part of our operations implementation, Berglund is
focused on developing “The Berglund Way” to approach
the employment of new recruits and candidates for our
newly developed Internship Program. Nearby colleges
and universities provide us a barometer of the regional
talent pool and their potential to meet Berglund’s core
values.

MAPPA, the Midwest Association of Physical Plant Officers annual Educational
Conference was held on October 1–2, 2006 at the Westin Hotel
Indianapolis, Indiana. Berglund was a sponsor and an exhibitor.
